Selective Wave Soldering
AVLE Soldering License Module 6:
Process training in selective, machine wave soldering in accordance with guideline AVLE1511. Combined theoretical and practical knowledge, with a focus on practical application.
Knowledge imparted in module 6:
- Structure of printed circuit boards, materials and surfaces
- Requirements for PCBs and components, their process windows and important specification parameters for soldering
- Properties of lead-free solder materials and their effects on selective soldering
- Classification and mode of action of fluxes
- Design of selective soldering systems
- Process parameters and their determination for fluxing, preheating and soldering
- Methods and measuring equipment for process monitoring
- Soldering faults, their analysis, assessment and countermeasures
- System checks on selective soldering systems in preparation for production
- Setting and checking flux, preheating and soldering parameters in practice
- Soldering test assemblies with different parameters and checking the effects on the soldering result
- Evaluation of the soldering results according to the current IPC-A-610
Includes:
- Printed personal training documents
- Examination documents
- AVLE qualification certificate module 6 after passing the final theory exam
- AVLE Soldering License or entry of the completed module
Entry requirements:
Basic knowledge of industrial electronics production is recommended.
Note:
This module is usually offered by the training centers in combination with module 5 (wave soldering) due to the close relationship. Please note the date descriptions in the AVLE training calendar!
